More Than Just an Ingredient

As part of our stance as Selector – Importer – Maker, Rishi sought to create a product that exemplified our devotion to creating delicious beverages that are readily accessible in any kitchen or café. Rishi has selected fruits and herbs with unique flavors and origins that are celebrated in cultures where food is considered medicine.

Our botanical powders are created from extracts of true fruits and herbs, which are applied onto a carrier, enabling them to dissolve fully into liquids. This preferred method of processing ensures the quality and benefits of the fruits and herbs remain intact, as opposed to grinding the ingredients directly into a powder, resulting in color, aroma, and flavor degradation.

Of course, these powders can provide rich flavor, color, and even wellness benefits when added to a food or beverage, but they can also be a medium all their own for creating dynamic, eye-catching creations.

We’re confident with a little experimentation you will quickly discover how versatile these blends are. Here are a few usage ideas and storage tips to help you get the most out of these exciting new products!

As with loose leaf tea & botanicals, premature exposure to heat, light, air, and moisture through improper storage will also harm the integrity and reduce the shelf life of powders. Moisture (even atmospheric) can cause clumping, ultimately shortening the products’ lifespan. Follow these guidelines to keep powders in optimal condition so the flavor and performance of the last scoop is as good as the first!

Storage

1. Container

Store unused powder in its original bag, void of most excess air, and sealed securely.

Best Practice: Store sealed bag in a secondary airtight container (e.g., glass jar with tight-fitting lid.)

2. Location

Store powders in a cool, dry, and dark location.

3. Service Tip

To avoid clumping, do not store powders long term in mesh shakers or applicators without an airtight seal.

Best Practice: Remaining powder should be transferred back to its original bag for

overnight storage. Wash & thoroughly dry applicators prior to refilling.

Recommended Applications

Dispense from Squeeze Bottles or Shakers

1

This approach is ideal when serving up beverages with thicker consistencies such as milkshakes, frappés, or smoothies. No two creations will be exactly the same and the appearance will continually evolve as the colors spread & incorporate as the drink is enjoyed.

"Graffiti Effect"

2

Coat the inside of a serving glass with water, juice, or simple syrup. Then unleash your inner “Jackson Pollock” by applying a thin layer of powder. Top with a blended creation of choice (neutral colors work best.)

"Layered Effect"

3

Shake a layer of powder between layers of blended drink.

Make An All Natural Food Coloring "Gel"

4

A little water and a touch of glycerin added to a tea/botanical powder will produce a thick, paintable consistency – perfect for application inside a serving glass or pastry bag (think meringue or frosting.)

Make a Tea/Fruit Syrup or "Fudge"

5

Mix into sweetened condensed milk for a fudge-like consistency – perfect for layering yogurt, popsicles, or rippling ice cream. Or, blend with simple syrup for a dairy-free sweetened concentrate.

When it comes to mixing directly with dairy or non-dairy milks, we recommend only Passionfruit Amla Gotu Kola and Butterfly Pea Flower powders. The flavor profiles of Mulberry Mangosteen Hibiscus and Butterfly Pea Lime Lemongrass are too bright/acidic for the creamy dairy. You may also notice some separation if when these powders varieties are blended with milk. Refer to the packaging label for recommended dosage and preparation method for each particular blend.
